As we come into the final month of 2020 our market remains very much as it has all year long. We have less homes available for sale then we did in 2019 yet we are selling more homes. The demand for homes is high and the supply low, which means we sit in that Seller’s Market.
With our supply remaining low, the prediction is that 2021 will look very much like 2020 as far as the local market is concerned, making it a great time to sell your home.
Trends in Buyer Wants:
1. Multiple Generations in one home: I am seeing more and more buyers that want that “Next Gen” or Generational Suite set-up or a way to mimic the Next Gen feel.
2. Work From Home: Home offices are a must. More and more people are working out of the house many with no intent to return to the regular office anytime soon, if ever.
3. Move-in Ready: Buyers are still showing us that they want to move in right away and have to do absolutely nothing to the home. That doesn’t mean a home that needs some work won’t sell, it just means you need to price it accordingly.
4. Backyards: With more people spending time at home, a fully landscaped backyard and/or a pool is in high demand.
5. Color Trends: Despite interior design predictions, I do still find a lot of buyers that want white kitchens. The difference, is the white on white on white kitchens are giving way to bits of color. I’m seeing more people going back toward darker cabinets but with white counters and backsplashes or vice versa with white cabinets but a blue or green cabinet on the island. Either way, pops of color are making a comeback.
Let’s make 2021 your year to accomplish your home goals. If you’ve found your home no longer meets your needs, let’s put together a plan to find you one that works!
