Selling your home is a family event. As a mother, I know it can be challenging to get the kiddos invested in keeping their section of the home clean. When selling our own home, I used a Kid Listing Agreement with my son and it worked beautifully. In fact, it worked so well that I knew it could be beneficial for many of my clients with children as well. If you feel this system would assist your kids, I’d be happy to enlist them or I can provide you the system to use on your own with them if you prefer.
How it works
- We write a “Kid’s Listing Agreement”
- I provide a Piggy Bank for the kiddo(s) to keep track of the coins earned
- Each time the items agreed upon are completed (i.e. clean room before showings, putting dirty laundry in baskets not on floor, etc). a coin is earned
- When the kid(s) earn the agreed upon number of coins, a really cool prize is earned. We tailor the prize to your kid(s) interests. Some things I’ve done in the past include: Legos, pool toys, remote control cars, Barbies, KiwiCo Science Kit, supplies for a Make Your Own Ice Cream Sundae bar.
